The Drive to succeed

The world is an opportunity, how we embrace the opportunity is an individual determination. Some choose to accept the goodies whiles others decide to work on the path of negativity. However, chances are still great, the pool is always there, the water never dries. Do you choose to swim wearing your pool equipments or are you a naked swimmer?

In life, we always cry of what the world has to offer us? I say to you, everything! No matter where you find yourself, what you have around you or how little you think your talent is, there is a space for you in today's world. Be it entertainment, politics, business, skilled and unskilled, there is something within you that qualifies you of being human.

Disappointments are no excuse for giving up, rather determination, belief and the courage to keep on fighting is the key to unlocking the talent from creation. "Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did", Newton Gingrich was right to say that. Colonel Sanders, Walt Disney, Albert Eistein, Richard Branson, Michael Jordan, are few of the successful people today who tasted the side of failure before succeeding. Branson for one has series of failures with his Virgin products but he did not allow failure to stop him. Today he is a billionaire.

How hungry are you for that which you want? How much belief do you have in yourself? Are your goals really important to you? Then deal with the obstacles and master your dreams no matter how many times you fall! As the Japanese proverb says " Fall down seven times, get up eight".

The Life of Generation Z

After the hustling and bustling of World War 1 and 2 and the inception of the United Nations, generations then were expectant of a new generation of stability, but in actual sense, we are steadily
and increasingly living in an ecosystem of instability.

A Clear manifestation of this is an explanatory event that disrupted the emergence of peace and stability in my native land Sierra Leone, a country in West Africa that holds about six million people. A military coup was created by the leader of the AFRC, Armed Forces Revolutionary Council, Johnny Paul Koroma in May 1997. This ploy was to get the RUF, Revolutionary United Front leader copra Foday Sankoh released by the Nigerian led peace keeping forces. The RUF also assert that their charge was emancipating the suffering masses. The outcome was not startling as they equally took the path taken by previous military coup d’état in Africa, which is extreme oppression of the people they claimed they were going to liberate.

Away from oppression, we now live at the mercy of a disease, a danger called 'Ebola'. It's worse outbreak in the world's history chooses to plague my country. Irrespective of that, we continue to believe that God has not forgotten us.

In other parts of the world, Generation Z line was just in the blink of a new era, an era of terrorism. One event that puts the world in a state of fright was the September eleventh 2001 bombing of the World Trade Centre in New York City, which left 2,973 plus the 19 hijackers dead. This event was not the last of subsequent terror attacks, as Britain also suffered an attack on the seventh of July 2005 that left 52 people dead and 700 injured.

We were soon to forget about terrorism and racism, not until the reemerge of Taliban and the birth of Boko Haram and the Islamic state fighters. Recent beheading of journalists, counter attacks and explosive discoveries around the world has again put us on our toes. France recently suffered an attack that is religiously linked and left 12 people dead including security personnel. Investigators are saying that the attack has an external backing due to the calibre of weapons used.

Despite  these  horrific  incidents surrounding the Z-Generation, people still enjoy the luxury that technology has brought. 70% of people that use social networks and other inventions of technology are actually from the Z-Generation who sometimes make fun of these terrible incidents via social networks. Facebook for instance, holds the highest number of silly jokes made out of serious issues.

In the past, surveys have proved that the Z-Generation is a generation of “systematic approach”, one that enjoys the liberty of freedom of speech, freedom of movements, though restricted by immigration criteria, and the freedom of association, which has contributed immensely in the growth of cultural diversity.

The Z-Generation continues to strive in bringing stability to its existence, "Hope for the future" they say.
